New PocketGo pre-orders go live

If you’re one of the ones that couldn’t get over the weird control layout of the RG350 then the New PocketGo might be your thing.

It has the same JZ4770 processor so you can expect decent SNES and PS1 performance from this handheld, and the first 1000 units are available for pre-order now for $54.99 shipped.

If you’re interested, you can order now from retromimi.com and it’ll ship in the middle of December.

  1. Mine arrived today, has been shipped 24th. Not sure if I like that d-pad needs to be pressed quite strongly to register anything.

  2. Is the website pocket-go.com legit? I already bought my new pocket go via this website but someone in my family is telling me it looks fishy.

    • use paypal and you’re always covered for this. you can’t rely on ANY chinese webshop to have the same customer service as somewhere like amazon (except maybe aliexpress to some extent). having said that, i have always found that being patient and using direct, simple, straight forward english gets the problem sorted.

without wanting to preach to the choir, i learned this the long way through many years of shopping at chinese sites. i haven’t been screwed over by anyone in a decade or more. you just have to be reasonable and firm with them.

  3. Can you confirm if the standard version (without opting for the 32Gb card) pre-order price of $54.99 comes with the os pre-installed or do you have to download it from somewhere and cut the os to your own Micro SD card?

  4. Is this a legitimate site, retromimi.com, to pre-order from?
Does this device run Opendingux? Will this device feature your excellent firmware upgrades as well @Jutleys?

    • retromimi.com is excellent, I pre-ordered both the original Pocket Go and the new one from them. Shipping was fast and I’m hoping this time it’ll arrive just after Christmas.

If the seller wasn’t legit, I don’t think they’d be getting recommend on this blog

    • Yeah retromimi is legit. I wouldn’t suggest to buy from any sites that were not.

It’ll run the same OS as the RG350 so yeah, OpenDingux.

    • retromimi is legit yes. I know the owner and have bought from here in the past, as have hundreds of others. I wouldn’t ever suggest to buy from a seller that I didn’t know to be trustworthy.

It’ll run OpenDingux, at least to begin with.

  7. I like everything other than the colorway. Hopefully they do a dark-grey-with-SFC-buttons version later, like the Miyoo Pocketgo got. (I’d also really like a portrait version)

  8. I don’t know if they can hold that price…and they might not need to anyway. The RG-350 is quite a bit more expensive.
