NeoGeo X Gets A Release Date, Pre-Order Available At Amazon

Available 6th of December according to Amazon US, the special ‘Gold’ package is now available to pre-order for $199. For your money you’ll get the handheld, the dock (that supports TV output), an arcade stick and a Ninja Masters game card. The consoles also has 20 games built in. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think this is the first time we’ve seen a a photograph of the finished product. I have to admit it looks pretty swish, but given the shambles that was the GameGadget I’ll happily wait and see if Blaze are going to do it right this time. I’m also dubious if the emulation is going to be up to scratch – I would hope that the 20 pre-loaded games will all run flawlessly but if anyone figures out a way to load your own ROMs then I’d like to know that they’ll all play nice too…

You can also get the bundle, or the handheld on its own from Gamestop in the US for $129.99. No word on availibility in Europe yet.

Thanks to k0en and retrgogamer over on the dingoonity boards for the info.

  1. Hmm widescreen. Indeed, these games are in 4:3. What a fucked up choice..

Regarding the games, they’re most likely to be played in a sdcard.

  2. What about the K101 GBASP, they said that they ship out September and still no word.

    1. Shipping by the end of the month apparently.

  3. Why widescreen??? Where is the pride SNKP?

    1. Agreed… very bad design choice.

  4. I wanna hear about the GCW! Weren’t they supposed to ship on the 14th?

    1. They haven’t shipped yet… I’ll update when there is news 😀
