Google Nexus7 Tablet Available For Pre-Order

Not so obscure perhaps, but certainly something to bear in mind while you’re perusing Chinese sites looking for a cheap and cheerful tablet. It really looks like Google and Asus achieved something great with this tab.

Up on the Play Store today you can pre-order the Google Nexus7 for $199, or £159 in you’re in the UK. It’s a Quad Core Tegra 3 tablet running at 1.3Ghz with 1GB RAM, a generous 1280×800 IPS display and Android 4.1 “Jelly Bean”. The tablet certainly looks to dwarf many Gemei, Ainol or Window efforts in almost all aspects. The things that give this away as a budget tablet though are, admittedly, things that many people would consider important. There is no video output, not even through MHL, and no there’s SD Card expansion either.

If you can live without those features and you’re after a nicely portable, very powerful and cheap tablet then this is almost certainly the one you want. But you’ll have to wait about 3 weeks until it’s officially launched before you can get your greasy mits on it.

  1. Google integration would be a good start for Google TV. If implemented nicely, sharing what you’re watching to others through your TV might appeal to some. We certainly have our doubts that it would make consumers flock to the service, but we couldn’t see it hurting it.

  2. I believe everything published made a ton of sense. But, think on this, suppose you were to create a killer headline? I am not saying your content is not solid, however suppose you added a title to possibly grab a person’s attention? I mean Google Nexus7 Tablet Available For Pre-Order Obscure Handhelds is kinda plain. You could glance at Yahoo’s home page and watch how they create article headlines to get people interested. You might add a video or a picture or two to get readers excited about what you’ve got to say. In my opinion, it would make your posts a little bit more interesting.

  3. I’m waiting for an Aurora II and its price was much lower than that. Bought for 150 euros, free shipping, leather case, keyboard, ogt cable and screen protector. Probably for the most recent gameloft’s games google’s tablet might be good, but no sd card?? Come on.. it’s a great turn down. I was considering to buy one of those but went with ainol’s instead. A nice card packed with our favorite tv shows, games, emulators.. that’s what I like! There’s also some good developments about rom tunning in slatedroid, so this google table isn’t something I’d be interested for now. (I was but now I can see that it hasn’t some features I consider fundamental.)

  4. This is competitor of Amazon Kindle Fire. They expected that everything you need , music, films, books, game etc. buy on their market.
