Two days ago I was scouring Baidu for new images and info on GPD’s new clamshell device, the XD, and came up short. Today however, the device has been confirmed and is scheduled to start shipping towards the end of next month.
New Nintendo Style Controllers Now Available From 8BITDO
Following on from the NES30 and FC30 controllers of last year, 8BITDO have now also produced some SNES and Super Famicom style controllers which I must say, ignoring the image on the box, look very pleasingly authentic. They are both bluetooth controllers compatible with Android, iOS, OSX and Windows and are firmware updateable from the official site. The …

Sneak Peek at the RCG Custom Revo
These aren’t available for sale yet but Rose Colored Gaming have posted a couple of sneak peek pics of their Famicom and Super Famicom styled shells for the Revo K101+. I’ve no idea how many of these they are making, but they are said to be available to purchase “soon”. If you’re interested, keep an …
MaxZhou88 Is On A Roll On Youku
MaxZhou88 is obviously rather enthusiastic about sharing as much as he can regarding the new K101Plus. He seems to be uploading videos daily (sometimes twice daily!) to Youku. In his latest video’s we can see that there will not only be a crystal case version of the K101Plus, but also a transparent black version …
K101Plus Shipping Soon, Crystal Case Version Later!
It’s been two and a half years since the original Revo K101 was released, and true to his word that he would never give up on it, Max Zhou has announced a new hardware revision of the K1 powered GBA clone. I’ve been holding off posting about this thing because I wanted to get some info on what changes have been made since the original hardware was released in September 2012. Today I managed to get a translation of something Max Zhou posted on the internet that outlines the changes made in the new version. The K101Plus is not a successor to the K101, really it’s just had some tweaks and improvements made to it, with a smattering of improvements added to boot.

Rumoured New Clamshell Device from GamePad Digital, the GPD XD
As you can see from the pictures, if this product does make it to market it might be a little while yet. Currently there are only some rendered images of this clamshell device available. The XD looks to be closely modelled on the “New” 3DS from Nintendo, albeit it seems to be lacking the second screen that would sit between the input controls. I would be disappointed if they didn’t fill that void with something, a small keyboard perhaps or maybe even a trackpad to save you jabbing at the hinged screen all the time when browsing.

Hello Again, And Look At This…
Nope I’m not dead yet, I just got a bit bored with the stagnating pool of mediocre Android powered handhelds from China. Maybe I should be digging deeper to find the interesting stuff, but honestly I haven’t really had the inclination to do so recently. It’s a mixture of guilt for neglecting this place, and …
iReadyGO MUCH W1 – A New Octacore Android Gaming Phone
It looks as though one of the first octacore handheld to arrive is going to be courtesy of iReadyGO. Although it’s not officially released until the 20th of August, it seems to have had a limited release to the Chinese market already courtesy of snail.com. The Mediatek MTK6952 octacore processor is powering this phone, and …

Retro Bluetooth Controllers at Willgoo
Willgoo has 2 new bluetooth controllers in stock, modelled after both the Famicon and NES and apparently made to celebrate 30 years since the Famicom debut. The NES variant hides away a fold out clip that can accommodate your phone, and whilst the Famicom doesn’t appear to have the same, it does come with …
Does Nvidia’s Shield 2 Signal The End?
Whether it be because of poor sales or a bad design decision, we may never know. Reports suggest that the first Shield sold well to begin with but sales slumped pretty soon after. Whatever the cause, Nvidia have obviously decided that a repeat of Shield 1 with a faster processor and resigned shell was not …
